It’s not just at the Recreation Ground that Bath Rugby’s young stars have been impressing: they’ve taken their scintillating form onto the international stage with England too.
Along with fellow backs George Ford and Jonathan Joseph, Anthony Watson burst onto the international scene this season, transferring the attacking flair so often seen at the Rec to the Twickenham turf.
“Playing for England this season has had a massively positive impact on my confidence,” said Watson recently. “Picking things up from guys that I don’t get to play with week in, week out is brilliant. To be able to soak up and trade information with other players is great for a young player such as myself.”
If, as expected, they are all selected for the Rugby World Cup this year, these players will return to the Club stronger for their experiences of playing on the ultimate stage of the game.
