Bath Rugby is delighted to welcome supporters back to the Recreation Ground for the first time this season.
It’s been a busy summer for the Club, both on and off the pitch, and everyone is excited as we approach our first home game of 2016/17, especially after such an outstanding away win against Northampton last weekend.
On the rugby side of things, we were hugely pleased to secure the services of our new Director of Rugby and Head Coach – Todd Blackadder and Tabai Matson. They join us from the Super Rugby franchise, the Crusaders, and will add to a strong coaching set-up, with Toby Booth and Darren Edwards continuing their First Team Coach roles. Toby, Darren and the rugby support staff worked incredibly hard during pre-season getting the players prepared and up to speed, and the rewards of this were visible in the three away pre-season victories over Yorkshire Carneige, Scarlets and Leinster.
We have also complemented our squad with some exceptionally talented individuals, including the likes of internationals Luke Charteris, Taulupe Faletau (both Wales) and Kahn Fotuali’i (Samoa).
Off the pitch, we’ve got a fantastic new West Stand, the construction of which you can see in the timelapse video above. Whilst this remains part of a temporary solution at the Rec, it provides a significant improvement in facilities and will enable an additional 1,000 people to enjoy rugby at the Rec each game. This is very much a stepping stone towards revised plans for a permanent development at the Rec, which we hope to progress during the coming season, and we will keep you updated on further news regarding this.
As ever, you, our supporters are a key part in any success we have, and we’d like to thank you for your continued support. We have a record-breaking number of Season Ticket Holders this season, and the coming season is full of excitement and anticipation for us all. We hope you’ll join us for every minute of it.
