Bath Rugby can confirm that Anthony Watson has been banned for two weeks following tonight’s RFU disciplinary hearing.
Watson was charged with tackling the player in the air, contrary to law 10.4(i) and conduct prejudicial to the interests of the Union and/or the Game, contrary to RFU Rule 5.12 and pleaded guilty to both charges. He was given a one week suspension for each charge, and is free to play again on the 25th April.
The Club fully accepts the outcome of the hearing. Whilst Watson's conduct after the sending off was out of character for the player, it was unacceptable and the Club do not condone it.
