University of Bath in action on Wednesday

20 December 2018

The University of Bath were in action last night, with hosts Leeds Beckett coming out 36-18 winners in the BUCS Super Rugby clash in Yorkshire.

Following four consecutive victories in the competition, the recent run was always looking likely to be challenged with the majority of the Bath Rugby contingent returning to Club action for Saturday’s Premiership Rugby Shield fixture against Exeter Braves.

Bath Rugby Academy’s Sam and Simone Elrick were both included as replacements for the game.

It was a closely fought first half with the University of Bath staying within two points of their counterparts going into the interval. However, 26 points in a strong second half showing saw the hosts come away with the points.

The University of Bath will go into the New Year in fifth place, with just 10 points separating the top six. Next up is a trip to Wales on Wednesday 30th January, where the University of Bath will face Cardiff University who sit in 10th place in the table.
