Bath Rugby will wear a unique, one-off shirt for the highly-anticipated local derby match against Gloucester on Saturday 16th May.
Designed by the Club's main partner, Dyson, the limited edition shirt will raise money for the Bath Rugby Foundation through a series of fundraisers. Dyson have struck upon a unique motif for the shirt's design which marries aspects of both the City of Bath and the Dyson organisation itself.
"Our engineers wanted this shirt to be striking and different," said Ben Tappenden, Dyson Creative Head. "The design is based on circles, which is one thing the City of Bath and Dyson have in common.
"The Dyson logo is constructed of pure form circles, Bath has pure circular geometry – the iconic Circus, Royal Crescent and the arches of Pulteney Bridge for example. The design process at Dyson also falls into a circular motion. Our engineers continue to revisit and improve any technology they launch, whether this is improving the aerodynamics of a machine or its acoustic properties."
Bath Rugby Foundation will run a variety of auctions throughout May to raise money through the shirts, including an EBay auction, a raffle in the Bath Rugby Shop and a sealed bid opportunity for Season Ticket Holders. Two shirts will also be auctioned off in the Swift Half after the game on Saturday.
"We are delighted that Bath Rugby and Dyson has chosen to support us on their specially designed shirts," added Mandy Gardner, Manager of Bath Rugby Foundation.
"This will make a huge difference to the people that we work with, not only in terms of the additional money that we can raise but that their heroes on the pitch value them and want to support them as individuals."
