Beechen Cliff made it eight wins from eight with a 17-24 victory against Exeter College, as they continued their unbeaten start to the U18 AASE South League.
The game was deadlocked at 17-17 with eight minutes to play, but a try from Owen Dudman saw Beechen Cliff maintain their position at the top of the standings.
A win next week in their game against Bishop Burton College at Cheltenham RFC will secure a place in the final of the competition, which would be their last as a group before they head into the U18 season with Bath Rugby.
Bath Rugby’s Academy Manager, Andy Rock, said: “This is another fantastic experience for this group of players. To have seen them overcome different challenges from week to week and learn together is a really positive sign. These experiences are crucial and is the exact reason why we invest in our pathway and this Bath Rugby partnership.”
“The next game against Bishop Burton College offers a further opportunity to continue their development and progress before a number of players and Bath Rugby Academy staff continue in the Premiership Rugby U18 Academy League next month.”
