Bath Rugby have planned two friendlies over the next week to provide game time for the club’s young players and the wider group.
The Blue, Black and Whites will welcome Gloucester Rugby to the Rec on Friday 16 April (15:00 kick-off) before hosting Harlequins seven days later (Friday 23 April, 15:00 kick-off).
Director of Rugby Stuart Hooper said: “The thinking behind the games is an opportunity for our players to get game time.
“Without the Premiership Rugby Cup and the Premiership Shield, some of these guys haven’t played rugby for 12 months.
“I said to the players before we played London Irish in the quarter-finals: ‘I’m very aware I’m now stood in front of you as a group of players and named teams every week which some of you haven’t been in’. I said to the players and the staff, ‘please put yourselves in the shoes of the players who haven’t played for a whole year and think about that for a second’.
“That’s why we’re going to put in the effort to put these fixtures on and give these guys the opportunity to fight for a jersey in the first team.”
