Bath Rugby would like to thank outgoing Club President Mike Beese for his great service in the role, and is pleased to announce that David Trick will assume the role as the Club heads into its 150th anniversary season.
Tarquin McDonald, Managing Director of Bath Rugby, praised the efforts of Mike Beese, saying: "In this landmark 150th year, we're celebrating the Club's past, present and future, and I feel Mike has epitomised all three of those things. He has been excellent in the role, working tirelessly in developing the Past Players network."
"On a personal level, Mike has been tremendously welcoming to me and has helped me get up to speed with the history of the Club. I have also enjoyed Mike and Christine's company at away games over the season, and I look forward to his continuing involvement in the Club."
For the past three years, new Club President David Trick has played a vital role in assisting the Bath Rugby Foundation in their fundraising efforts. With his help, the Foundation now have fixed, popular charitable events in the calendar such as Superstars, the Bath Half Marathon, the Men's Walk and a number of cycling events.
Trick, who will assume the role for two seasons from 2015/16, was one of the stars of the Bath side during the amateur era, and between making his debut in 1979 to hanging his boots up in 1991, scored an astonishing 171 tries.
"I am very proud to be asked to be Club President, not least since this will be my second time in the role," said Trick, who was President from 2011 to 2013. "To be asked to take it on again is a privilege. The Club is entering a truly exciting phase, so it's an honour to play just a small part in that."
On the appointment of David Trick, McDonald commented: "'Tricky' is a very popular figure around the Club and his work with the Foundation speaks for itself. He understands the Club implicitly and will do a fantastic job for the next two seasons."
