Bath Rugby prepare for Leg two of the super sevens series

2 June 2023

After two weeks away from the Super Sevens Series, Bath Rugby Women’s Sevens head to Newbury RFC to continue their summer campaign.

Head Coach Maria Crowfoot has named a 13-player squad for the second round of the Super Sevens Series, with two changes to the squad that travelled to Bournemouth Sevens.

After her Player of The Tournament performance last week, Rebecca Lacey retains her place in the team after scoring a sensational try against Wild Dogs at Bournemouth Sevens.

As last week’s top try scorers, Liv Taylor and Kyara Martin also retain their spots in the Blue, Black and White squad traveling to Newbury this Saturday.

Having also appeared on the scorecard last week, Bethan Thomas, Nell Powell, Mairéad McErlean, and Sofia Mazzone are all set for their second appearance in this year’s Super Sevens Series.

Also retaining their places in the squad are Lucy Tanner, Meg Griffiths, Tara Aksoy and Bristol Bears back row Bo Osborn-Clarke.

Returning from a shoulder injury, Bethanie Wilson is back in the 13-player squad alongside Ellie Lewis who also returns for Bath Rugby this weekend.

Kicking-off first against Hammerheads, Bath Rugby are set for their third encounter of the season with last week’s Bournemouth Sevens tournament winners.

Finishing the group stage at Newbury RFC Sevens, the Blue Black and White will face off against Wooden Spoons and Savvy Panthers before the semi-final stage of the tournament.
