Bath Rugby Foundation has welcomed Tarquin McDonald, Managing Director of Bath Rugby, onto its Board of Trustees.
McDonald has been MD of the Club since September 2014, following two years as Finance and Strategy Director.
“I am excited to be joining the team of Trustees. I am very proud of Bath Rugby – and the Foundation is a big part of that. Sport has the power to make a real difference to the lives of the most vulnerable people in our society," he said. "There are many success stories coming out of classrooms, rugby pitches and sports centres across the region thanks to the Foundation – a reminder for the Club and for our players of the impact that sport can have."
"Importantly, the direct involvement of our players and staff in the Foundation’s work is central to keeping our Club, our players and our staff rooted in the community. I look forward to helping bolster the hugely effective work the Foundation already carries out in 2016 and beyond.”
Stuart Doughty, Chair of Trustees of the Bath Rugby Foundation added; “I am looking forward to Tarquin bringing his strategic experience to our Board of Trustees. This is an example of both the Club and Foundation making a commitment to our continued work to change the lives of vulnerable people in Bath and surrounding areas."
"Our projects are wide reaching: from those facing challenges such as unemployment and isolation, to working with the most vulnerable children in our area. They may be living in an area of deprivation or they may have a physical or learning disability. All of our projects are united by the belief that sport has the power to build confidence, and help participants to build happy and healthy lives.”
McDonald assumes his post immediately, joining Stuart Doughty, Christopher Potter, Colin Marshall, Lee Mears, Peter Wragg, and Tim Westbrook. Nick Blofeld has decided to step down from the Board of Trustees. The Foundation would like to thank him for all his support and guidance.
