Bath Rugby welcomes the announcement this morning from Premiership Rugby in which it has confirmed Saturday 15 August as the target date for the resumption of the Gallagher Premiership.
The target restart date was agreed last night following the announcement earlier this week that Premiership Rugby clubs can move to Stage 1: Elite Sport Return to Training.
Tarquin McDonald, Chief Executive of Bath Rugby said: “This is hugely positive news - we are all desperate to get back and play. The safety of our staff and players remains our top priority, and our Performance Department and support staff have done an excellent job ensuring we can commence individual training from 15th June in line with guidance from the Professional Game Board.
"We welcome this news and crucially can now set timeframes in order to maximise our athletes' readiness for a return to competition when that time comes in August."
As with all stages of return, the club continues to share and discuss each development with players and staff and their welfare remains firmly at the heart of our decision-making process.
The structure of the 2019-20 season will follow in due course.
