Restart Rugby will launch its first ever challenge event, the Restart Rugby Ride. The tour will cover 350km in three days and pass through some of the country’s most iconic Aviva Premiership stadiums.
This is the perfect opportunity for rugby supporters to join legends of the game and raise vital funds for Restart Rugby, the Players’ Charity.
Taking place between 13th – 15th July riders will begin their journey at Sandy Park, home of Exeter Chiefs’ and along the way will visit Bath Rugby’s The Rec, London Irish’s Madejski Stadium, Saracens’ Allianz Park and finally finish their challenge at Harlequins’ The Stoop.
2003 Rugby World Cup winner and Restart Rugby trustee, Ben Kay, said: “This is an incredible opportunity for rugby fans to join their heroes and take part in a unique challenge to help raise funds for Restart Rugby and our players. 350km may seem like a daunting prospect, but all riders are welcome and I’d urge all rugby fans to sign-up and help support this outstanding cause.”
Recently retired Harlequins, England and British & Irish Lions Winger, Ugo Monye, said: “This is set to be an incredible event for Restart Rugby and for any cyclists and rugby fans out there. What better way than to visit England’s top Aviva Premiership clubs whilst raising vital funds for the players’ charity. Get in quick as places will not be available for long!”
Restart Rugby Ride is open to all and there are a number of fundraising options available, you can choose to join the full three-day ride or to take part as a daily rider.
All funds raised are in aid of Restart Rugby, the official charity of The Rugby Players’ Association (RPA) and will go towards supporting professional rugby players who have suffered serious injury, illness or hardship.
