Priestland to captain Bath against Scarlets

23 August 2018

Rhys Priestland will captain Bath Rugby, as he faces his former side Scarlets in the Club’s final pre-season game tomorrow at the Rec (kick-off 19:30). Priestland will start at fly-half, forming a partnership with Chris Cook in the half-back combination.

New signings Jamie Roberts and Jackson Willison will pair up in the centres. Roberts will start at inside centre fresh from scoring on his debut in the 12-10 win against Edinburgh last weekend, whilst Jackson Willison will make his first start at outside centre for the Blue, Black and White.

Semesa Rokoduguni makes a welcome return to the Rec with the England international starting on the right wing. Jack Wilson comes in on the left wing and Tom Homer starts at full-back to complete a dangerous backline.

Will Vaughan starts at loosehead and Henry Thomas at tighthead, with Tom Dunn completing the front row trio. Dave Attwood and Luke Charteris form an experienced second row, with Zach Mercer and Sam Underhill starting at openside and blindside flanker respectively. Taulupe Faletau completes the back row at number eight.

Will Chudley and Joe Cokanasiga, who arrived in the summer, are joined by the likes of club captain Matt Garvey, Elliott Stooke and Freddie Burns in the replacements.

The Blue, Black and White will be running out on Friday night in the new 2018/19 kit. Get down to the Rec on Friday night to see them in action and see the boys in the kit for the first time. Tickets are still available here.
