Hot off the press, Director of Rugby Stuart Hooper faced the media this afternoon ahead of Sunday's Round 20 match against Sale Sharks.
On size of the Sale Sharks game
“They all are. Realistically where we are, we have three regular season games left and Sale is the next one so it’s the biggest one. It's massively exciting with the way the league table is and the way that the other games are going.
“We don’t want to have to rely upon anyone else, we want to go out there and get as many points as we can. The boys have been turning up and working hard for each other. We’ve given ourselves a chance and we go to Sale to give it our very best shot.”
On winning or losing this weekend
“There are so many if’s but’s and maybes. Nothing is terminal will be terminal following this weekend, I know that much. There are still 10 points to play for after this weekend. But I do feel pressure from the players and the rest of the staff that we can deliver a program that allows us to go there and give it our best shot.
“The magnitude of the game and where our season sits is why we do the job. We want to be fighting to be in the top four and to win the Premiership. The challenge is one that I relish.”
“There have been a few difficult decisions on team selection and that is a really great position to be in. it means people are fit and have been playing well. The selection conversation which spans over a couple of days with the coaches is then backed up with conversations with those players who are and are not playing.
“It is a big part of what happens at the moment. It is never a definitive block over this period but of course I know exactly what is going on and what minutes are left. What we. Have ensured is that there are places up for grabs and I think that is really important.”
