Josh Matavesi faced the press this afternoon ahead of Wednesday evening's trip to Franklin's Gardens in Round 16 of the Gallagher Premiership. Here is what he had to say...
On THAT dummy and enjoying his rugby
“That is pretty much all I have in the locker, so I am pretty happy that it came off for a change. I am really enjoying my rugby at the moment; I am enjoying training and I’m enjoying being challenged by the group here.
“So being able to go out onto the pitch and being able to express myself, I didn’t mean for the dummy to come out the way that it did and hopefully I didn’t disrespect anybody. It was just pure emotion and when I play with a smile on my face it tends to be when I am playing my best rugby.”
On Leicester result
“We are pleased with the result, getting five points away at Leicester and against any Tigers side is a good job. I know the boys that wear the Tigers shirt and they wear it with pride. Things that we need to work on are really easy ones, it is all positive stuff to work on at the moment and we have a tough challenge ahead of us on Wednesday against Northampton."
On winning restart
“The group being able to crack on with stuff, with individual responsibilities and prep has been left to our own devices and we have used it pretty well. Training has also been short and sharp. For us it has been really good and with playing heaps of games, getting to know every bodies body language when we play rugby.”
