Director of Rugby Stuart Hooper faced the press this afternoon ahead of Saturday's Round 15 Gallagher Premiership match against Leicester Tigers at Welford Road.
On coming through London Irish
“We came through the first weekend in one piece which is good. It is a big factor and it is going to be a big factor going forward, especially when we go into these weeks with three games in eight or nine days.”
On Leicester expectation and Bath focus
“The key thing with Leicester and having been involved in rugby for a long time, as an opposition player, there is always an expectation on Leicester Tigers and what they deliver.
“Our guys have prepared hard and something that we’ve focused on in this period of time is that we are making sure we look after ourselves. As it is never truer than in this period because if you get caught up in the opposition and you get caught up in what will work one week and what works the next then you all of a sudden aren’t developing as a team.”
On team selection with tight game period
“It is very difficult to talk hypothetically, although every game is 80 minutes long, what happens in those games are very different, including contact for different players in different positions. So on a whole I wouldn’t expect somebody to start all games in eight days but there is situations where it may have happened.
“The big thing for us is looking after the welfare of our players and what they do. Games and game minutes are part of that so that we will look to be careful during this period.”
