Hot off the press, scrum-half Will Chudley spoke this week ahead of our Heineken Champions Cup fixture against La Rochelle, as the Blue, Black and White head to the Stade Marcel-Deflandre for the first time on Saturday.
On facing La Rochelle
“We have spoken about it this week. The way Europe is this year, it’s four games so we are under no illusions that in order to stay in the fight for this qualification, we have to go and win.
“Looking at our own process for the last couple of weeks we haven’t stuck to our systems. We are trying to look for a complete performance. We don’t need to change anything necessarily on what we have been doing but just do them better.
“Each year they have gotten better and better. The league doesn’t lie, they did well last year, and they are doing even better so far this season. They have a huge team and we know that to go over there we have to match them physically first and foremost so it will be a great challenge and we’re looking forward to it.”
On managing defeats this season
“It has been tricky. We’ve assessed each game and we’ve done some really good things but in others, we have seen things that haven’t been good enough. We know what we’re trying to achieve, and we know when we do what we do, we are a good team.
“It’s just disappointing because some of the stuff at the weekend was really good with our attack, but we weren’t clinical in the 22 or we missed a few tackles and that has lost us the game. It has been frustrating, but we know what we have to do.”
