Press Notes: Gloucester

18 September 2020

Director of Rugby Stuart Hooper faced the press this afternoon ahead of Tuesday’s Round 21 match-up against West Country Rivals Gloucester.

On Gloucester result earlier in the season

“We have developed a fair bit since then. They performed well in that game and take nothing away from them, they deserved the victory and I think that we were pretty off that day. It is a new fixture, it’s another opportunity and we won’t be dwelling on what happened in the past.”

On extended break between games

“It has been good for the lads to have a good couple of days off before we have regrouped and prepare to get going again. They have been flat out and giving us absolutely everything. They have been giving each other physically delivering for each moment of the games so it has been good for them to physically rest up and pick up and go again ready for Gloucester.”

On schedule and next season

“For us it is a great opportunity now because we have worked hard and put ourselves in a position for it to be a good opportunity. If we had won only two games from the seven then it wouldn’t be, so it is a real opportunity for us, but it is because we have created it.

"Next season is next season, obviously we are planning in the background for that, but it is certainly not front and centre of our minds right now. There could be a number of players away on international duty but even that is an unknown, so we won’t worry too much about that right now.”
