BAYLISS & BHATTI RECEIVE SCOTLAND CALL UPS
Jamie Bhatti and Josh Bayliss have been named in a 37-strong Scotland squad for their upcoming summer fixtures.
Interim head coach, Mike Blair, will oversee a group for games against England A, Romania and Georgia.
Scotland’s squad combines youth and experience, and provides an opportunity for players two years out from a Rugby World Cup to demonstrate their international credentials.
Bhatti featured in the Six Nations, earning his 18th cap in Round 5 against Italy while Josh Bayliss is uncapped.
The homegrown Bath Rugby Academy graduate qualifies for Scotland through his Aberdeen-born grandmother and was in line for a debut in the spring but for the cancellation of the Round 3 match against France ahead of a concussion.
Everybody at Bath would like to wish Jamie and Josh a huge congratulations on their latest achievement!
DYSON 7s IN THE SUN
Dyson 7s is a roaring success in the sun. Bath Rugby Sevens, in association with Dyson, returned to the Rec on Saturday 5 June for the first time in two years!
Approximately 700 people enjoyed a fantastic day in the Bath sunshine with four boys teams (all Under-14s) and four girls teams (all Under-15s) taking part in the Finals Day as well as touring the first-team changing rooms too.
All eight finalists secured their place by progressing through two preliminary tournaments at North Dorset RFC and Royal Wootton Bassett RFC a couple of weeks previous.
Experienced England Sevens duo Ruaridh McConnochie and Will Muir were in attendance and held a Q&A just before prizes were awarded to the winners of the day.
Prior to the event, Ruaridh and Will offered their ‘Seven tips for Sevens’ to all those participating including advice around footwork, support play and avoiding contact.
