Former captain Lipman back at The Rec for Bath Rugby v Gloucester

5 October 2022

Former Bath Rugby Club Captain Michael Lipman will return to The Rec this Saturday when the Blue, Black and White host West Country rivals Gloucester.

The 42-year-old, who was part of the victorious Challenge Cup-winning side of 2008, returns to the place he called home for six seasons.

Between 13:00 and 14:00 on Saturday, Michael will be in the Swift Half to meet supporters during Happy Hour where pints are £1 cheaper - make sure you arrive at The Rec early!

He will also be interviewed at half-time by PA Simon Ward who will discuss his time at Bath Rugby and his book Concussion which describes his battle with early onset dementia.

Also on Saturday, Bath Rugby will be raising funds for Gloucester and Ed Slater’s 4Ed campaign.

Ed announced his retirement from rugby in July after being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). The 4Ed campaign’s aim is to raise awareness of Ed’s diagnosis and generate funds for his treatment and support of his young family.

The club will run a 50/50 raffle with proceeds shared between 4Ed and the Bath Rugby Foundation.

Ticket prices will be increased to £2 to help aid both charities but the prizes on offer have also been enhanced!

For just £2, you could win:

  • An overnight stay for two at Lucknam Park
  • Two invitations (including match tickets if required) to the President’s Lounge (subject to availability)
  • Signed Bath Rugby shirt or ball

And why not enhance your chance of winning by purchasing three tickets for £5?

Tickets will be available from volunteers pre-and-post-match around The Rec with the winner to be confirmed on the website and social media following the match.
