Meet Ben Da Costa, our Centurions Club match reporter

10 January 2012

We spoke to Ben, Bath Rugby's new Centurions Club match reporter, and asked him a few questions to get to know him better.

How old are you?

I'm 14 years old.

How long have you supported Bath Rugby?

Since I was 5, so for 9 years now.

Do you play rugby?

I play scrum half for Corsham RFC and have done for the last 9 years.

Who is your favourite player?

Michael Claassens, because I am also a scrum half and I feel he is the best 9 in the Premiership.

What is your favourite Bath Rugby memory?

Watching Kane Palma-Newport make his full debut in front of the home fans as me and my dad have been watching him since he was 12

What do you love about Bath Rugby?

The atmosphere when you enter the Rec and the whole family feel you get from staff and supporters. And of course the feet banging that comes from the Novia stand when we get close to the line.

Other than the Rec, which is your favourite ground you have visited?

I'd have to say Franklins Gardens because of the atmosphere and the layout of the stadium with the fans being very welcoming.

Where do you go to school?

I go to the mighty Sheldon School in Chippenham.

What are your favourite subjects at school?

It would have to be P.E, Drama, Business, Maths and English

Outside of rugby, what else do you enjoy doing?

I do voluntary Football coaching for my local village under 8 team. I also enjoying going up to Lord's to watch the England cricket team play. And listening to the Beatles.

Who would captain your rugby dream team?

My past captain would be Danny Grewcock because of his never give up spirit he has and his tenacity on the pitch.

My current would be Richie McCaw because of his huge presence and influence.

What is your favourite food?

Got to be Chinese, I love a good crispy aromatic peking duck and shredded chilli beef.

What is your favourite film?

The original Italian Job as it's been my favourite film since I first saw it 8 years ago!

What other sports do you like?

I am currently doing a North West Wiltshire winter coaching programme for Cricket so that and Rugby are my favourite sports, but I also play Football and Golf.

What is your favourite chocolate bar?

I like a good Dairy Milk bar and I also like mars bars but my favourite has got to be Crunchie just because of the honeycomb centre.
