LV= Cup fixtures confirmed

23 July 2012

Bath Rugby will aim to repeat last season's winning start to their LV= Cup campaign this year when they take on Newport Gwent Dragons at the Recreation Ground.

Bath got off to a flying start in last year's tournament with a 16-46 win at Rodney Parade, and went on to take maximum points from every pool game, before narrowly missing out on reaching the final with a 16-17 defeat to Leicester Tigers in March.

Drawn in Pool 4 alongside Northampton Saints, Aviva Premiership newcomers London Welsh and Ospreys, Bath will also face Aviva Premiership Champions Harlequins at the Stoop and Exeter Chiefs at the Rec, before rounding off the pool stage with a trip to Kingsholm to face old rivals Gloucester Rugby.

Commenting on the new season fixtures, LV= Head of Sponsorship, Claire Jeromson, said "After the success of last year's tournament, which culminated in a thrilling final, we are looking forward to another exciting competition, as the LV= Cup goes into its fourth year.

"The young talent being showcased by the clubs is very strong, as displayed by current champions Leicester Tigers, and this season looks set to be no different with some early big name clashes setting the tone for the rest of the season."
