After taking the spoils with a late surge in their charity T20 match against Hinton Charterhouse last week, the Bath Rugby Legends XI return next Friday to face an All Stars Bath Cricket Club team intent on stopping them.
The Legends needed 18 runs off the last over to win, in a thriller that saw Jeff Williams (50 not out) and Ross Batty (quickfire 40 not out) very much to the fore. The match raised over £2,500, with the money going to the Bath Rugby Foundation and Dorothy House Hospice Care.
The Legends now seek to follow their dramatic victory at Hinton Charterhouse at the North Parade Ground on Friday 15th July, bolstered by the addition to their ranks of three Rec favourites of yesteryear in David Trick, Matt Perry and Phil de Glanville.
Batty takes the captain’s armband after his exploits on the oval at Hinton, with new Bath Rugby recruit Michael van Vuuren set to make his Legends debut at the crease.
Gates open at 6pm. Entry to the match is a suggested donation of £3 for adults and £1 for under-16s, with all funds going to United Response, a charity which supports people with learning disabilities.
