The ever popular Bath Rugby Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup returns for its eighth season, with aspiring young rugby players across the country getting the chance to take part and play against teams from their local area.
The Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup is a nationwide tournament for under 11 and under 12 teams. The long running grassroots rugby tournament was the first of its kind to be officiated by Premiership Rugby and is run in conjunction with all 12 Premiership Rugby clubs and has been supported by Land Rover since its inception.
The Bath Rugby Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup will be taking place on Sunday 10th April at Trowbridge Rugby Club.
Youngsters attending the Bath Rugby Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup festival will also have the chance to meet Bath Rugby players. The players will be offering youngsters rugby advice, meeting the clubs and families who make these festivals so special and watching the next generation of talent in their matches.
Speaking ahead of the event, Bath Rugby's captain Hooper said: "I still remember playing at this age and loving my rugby so I can't wait to hear how they get along. I'm sure the children will enjoy the game like I did.
"It's so good that Premiership Rugby clubs run these types of events - there may even be some of the next generation of Bath Rugby players on show.
"It's crucial that the event is also supported by sponsors such as Land Rover - junior tournaments are the foundations of rugby in the community, and something we should be really proud of."
The Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup has seen over 60,000 children take part to date, from all over the country. So, get involved and support the young stars of your local clubs; all playing for the right to call themselves regional champions.
