Ahead of our fixture with Exeter Chiefs on Sunday, we preview some key battles to look out for at Sandy Park.
Joe Cokanasiga v Olly Woodburn
Cokanasiga returns to the starting line-up after appearing for England during the Six Nations. The 21 year-old produced a Man of the Match display in the 57-14 win over Italy and will look to add to his six tries scored for his club this weekend.
Woodburn will come up against his former side, as the winger goes head-to-head with the in-form Cokanasiga. The 27 year-old scored last time out in the 30-33 victory over Worcester Warriors and will look to make his mark at Sandy Park on Sunday.
Zach Mercer v Matt Kvesic
Mercer has been one of Bath’s stand-out performers this season from the back row. The 21 year-old has chipped in with six tries so far this season – the joint second highest behind Semesa Rokoduguni, who has nine to his name. A dangerous runner, Mercer will be looking to impress once again at Sandy Park.
Kvesic joined Exeter Chiefs from Gloucester Rugby in 2017 and has gone from strength-to-strength ever since. A physical presence in both defence and attack, the three-time capped England international will be aiming to continue his rich vein of form.
Nathan Catt v Harry Williams
Catt has bounced back from an injury-hit season last year to play an integral role in Bath’s season so far. The loosehead prop has been a consistent figure in the front row alongside Tom Dunn and Henry Thomas and will be integral to his side’s fortunes in Devon on Sunday.
Capped 17 times by his country, Williams was involved in the England setup for the recent Six Nations campaign appearing off the bench against Ireland and Wales. Standing at 6ft 4 and weighing in at 20 stone, Williams will certainly look to make his presence felt from the front row.
