After spending a week off following a busy start to 2018 for both club and country, Jonathan Joseph is back fit and raring to go as Bath Rugby battle old rivals Leicester Tigers in The Clash at Twickenham on Saturday, kick-off 14:00. Joseph, who scored the first Blue Black and White try in last year’s inaugural Clash, says that he is feeling revitalised ahead of the match.
“I’m feeling refreshed and I’m looking forward to performing well until the end of the season,” begins the 26-year-old.
“I’m fortunate at Bath - I’ve had time to get away to refresh and recuperate. I’m grateful that I’m still going and I can still add to the team.”
The centre is no stranger to the home of England Rugby, and says that it is a privilege to play at Headquarters. “It’s a special place to play rugby,” he claimed. “It’s a great spectacle, a great occasion. It’s a pleasure to take the field at Twickenham. The atmosphere is always amazing.”
Bath face a Leicester side that are on a good run of form of late, but the England international believes that the match will provide the Blue, Black and White with a good chance to get a positive result that'll also motivate the team to finish the Aviva Premiership campaign strongly.
“Saturday is a great opportunity to go out and put in a good performance for the fans,” Joseph said. “We believe in our system, we believe in our coaches and we believe in what we’re trying to do."
“Hopefully the weather will be good and we put in a performance that will help get our season back on track.”
