Jennings to Captain United for season opener

19 September 2016

Bath United take on local rivals Bristol United this evening in their first Aviva A League game of the season at the Recreation Ground, kick-off 19:30.

There is an exciting, youthful look to the team, albeit with a sprinkling of experienced talent.

England U20 star Darren Atkins starts at fullback, with Harry Davies and Jeff Williams out wide on the wings. Rory Jennings captains the side from inside centre, combing with new signing Aled Brew, as Adam Hastings slots in at fly-half and Will Homer starts at scrum-half.

Up-front, Beno Obano and Max Lahiff scrum down either side of Michael van Vuuren at hooker, with Elliott Stooke and Alex Humfrey partnering up in the engine room.

Academy flankers Levi Douglas and Josh Bayliss are named either side of Mat Gilbert, who makes a return to the Blue, Black and White of Bath.

Entry to the ground is free, however a suggested donation of £2 is payable on the gates, with all proceeds going to Bath Rugby Foundation.

No parking is available at the Rec for tonight's game so please use alternative parking in the city centre.

Only the West Stand will be open and all seating is unreserved.
