James in line for Six Nations action

20 January 2015

Bath Rugby loosehead Paul James has been named in Warren Gatland's 34-man Wales squad for the upcoming Six Nations.

James captained Bath to a famous victory against Toulouse on Sunday, and was a member of Wales's last two Six Nations Championship-winning squads. He will be out to add to his 57 caps for his country.

He is joined in the international squad by fly-half Rhys Priestland, who will next season be joining Bath. Wales kick off the tournament with a Friday night fixture against England at the Millennium Stadium on February 6th, with Gatland looking forward to linking up with the squad next week.

"It's great to be able to name such an experienced squad that also boasts some exciting young talent," said Gatland. "We all know how tough the Six Nations is and we kick the tournament off with a huge game against England and that is something you have to be excited about and look forward to. We were pleased on the whole with the autumn campaign and this is another opportunity for us as we look ahead to a very big year in the rugby calendar."
