Head-to-heads - Bath Rugby v Saracens

7 March 2019

Bath Rugby will welcome the champions to the Rec, as Saracens make their way to the West Country for tomorrow night's Gallagher Premiership clash (kick-off 19:45).

Here are just a few players to keep your eyes on, as the Friday night lights return to the Rec.

Ruaridh McConnochie v David Strettle

McConnochie has made a successful transition to the full format of the game after a hugely successful spell with the England Sevens. An Olympic silver medallist, the winger has quickly made a name for himself crossing the whitewash on three occasions this season. With a great turn of pace and footwork to match, McConnochie will be looking to make his mark once again tomorrow evening.

David Strettle is an equally dangerous force in attack and will mark 150 games for the club on the left wing at the Rec. The 35 year-old has scored 55 tries in the Gallagher Premiership in his two spells with the North London-based side.

Will Chudley v Ben Spencer

Chudley joined Bath Rugby from Exeter Chiefs and he has proved a valuable signing for the Blue, Black and White. As well as putting in some spectacular performances for the Blue, Black and White he has commanded the side and taken over the captain’s spot.

Spencer has impressed so far this season, crossing for four tries and scoring 52 points in the Gallagher Premiership. The scrum-half will also mark a milestone with his 100th appearance in the competition and his game management will be vital for the visitors’ tomorrow night.

Dave Attwood v Will Skelton

Dave Attwood has been one of Bath Rugby’s stand out performers this season from the second row. A huge asset in defence and powerful with ball in hand, Attwood is going to take some stopping. The experienced lock will be joined by Levi Douglas in the second row and will be determined to make their mark in front of another big crowd at the Rec.

At six foot eight inches tall and weighing in at 135kg Skelton is a huge physical threat. Capped 18 times by Australia, Bath will have to be at their best to nulify the threat of the 26 year-old.
