Four Bath Rugby players named in England squad to tour Australia

20 June 2022

Charlie Ewels, will depart for Australia alongside flanker Sam Underhill, prop Will Stuart and winger Joe Cokanasiga.

Cokanasiga showed his try-scoring ability by crossing the whitewash for England yesterday as they took on the Barbarians.

England Head Coach, Eddie Jones, used the warm-up BaaBaas game to influence his selection, saying the game helped the side learn and prepare for the upcoming challenge against the old enemy.

Reflecting on the clash, Jones said, “We approached the game in a particular strategic way, trying to play a bit different and extend ourselves.

“It was a great reminder of the work we have to do before Australia,” said Jones.

"This tour will be a great experience for the group and a crucial part of the team’s work towards the Rugby World Cup in 2023. We will continue to develop the base of the squad and how we want to play."

The Wallabies named their 35-man squad to take on England last week, being led by captain Michael Hooper and including six uncapped players.

The tour kicks off in Perth on 2 July, then heading to Brisbane before rounding off the tour in Sydney on 16 July. All games will be shown on Sky Sports with kick-off at 11am BST.
