Exeter Braves ran in eight tries to record a 51-15 victory over Bath United at Sandy Park in the Premiership Rugby A League.
Bath welcomed back Tom Homer and Max Lahiff from injury, but United were unable to stop an impressive Braves side, who produced a near-faultless display.
However, it was the visitors, who took the lead after four minutes through the boot of Josh Lewis, but were quickly pegged back by Dan Frost’s first try of the afternoon six minutes later. 5-3
Frost added a second mid-way through the half, before Levi Douglas was sent to the sin-bin for coming in at the side of a ruck. Braves made the extra man count, as Frost secured a hat-trick shortly before the interval, to put the home side firmly in the ascendancy.
Half-time score – Exeter Braves 15-3 Bath United
Braves found an extra gear in the second-half with three tries in five minutes, to give them a commanding lead. Quick-fire tries from Sam Morley, Charlie Davis and Kai Horstman put their side firmly in control of the match with just over 20 minutes left on the clock. 39-3
However, Bath re-grouped and scored their opening try of the afternoon with Michael van Vuuren crossing the whitewash with seven minutes to play. 39-10
Van Vuuren's effort was followed three minutes later by scrum-half Jon Snow, who crossed to extend Braves’ lead. United hit back from the restart, with Levi Davis showing his explosive speed to finish in the corner, before Ben Phillips added Braves’ eighth try to close out the game.
