Bath Rugby Academy lock Charlie Ewels will captain an experienced England Under 20 squad in their defence of the World Rugby Under 20 Championship in Northern Italy next month (2-20 June).
Ewels, who led his country to Six Nations glory this season, is joined by fellow Bath Rugby Academy teammates Max Clark and Rory Jennings. Head Coach and former Bath fullback Jon Callard's side aiming for a third consecutive tournament win and will take on France, Wales and Japan in the pool stages.
Callard said: "We have a good balance of experience, with players returning from last year and the new group coming in. Charlie will captain the side after doing a fantastic job during the Six Nations.
"For the entire squad it is a huge honour to represent their country in a world championship. Some of the players are only a year behind those who have come through and been capped at senior level this year.
"The likes of George Ford, Jack Nowell and Owen Farrell have all made the immediate step-up in recent years and they are now an inspiration for this group."
England arrive in Italy as Six Nations champions following an excellent 24-11 defeat of France in Brighton. However, Callard will be looking for England to step up another gear on the world stage.
"We had a good Six Nations but we didn't hit our full potential or perform as well as we would have liked," he added. "We had some tough games, and to come through them and win was a credit to the players."
