Gallagher, community insurance broker and Proud Title Partner of Premiership Rugby, is on the hunt for the first ‘Gallagher Rugby Club of the Season’.
The winning club will be judged for how it is contributing to the future of its local community, both on and off-the-pitch.
Six shortlisted clubs will be rewarded with:
- Training equipment worth £1000
- An on-pitch training session led by local Gallagher Premiership Rugby stars
- An off-pitch business consultancy session, led by Gallagher’s risk management experts
- Invitations to the Gallagher Premiership ‘end of season’ awards, where the winner will be announced
The winning club will also receive:
- 100 tickets to the Gallagher Premiership Rugby Final 2020
- Enhanced training equipment bundle worth £2000 for their club
- The ultimate title of Gallagher Rugby Club of the Season
All clubs will be judged by a panel, including Gallagher ambassadors Ugo Monye and Danielle ‘Nolli’ Waterman, based on the below criteria. A public social media vote through the shortlisted clubs’ channels will also contribute to the overall vote conducted by the judging panel.
We want clubs to demonstrate their true ‘community spirit’ and impact by telling us what they are doing to encourage greater inclusivity in rugby and how they are bringing innovation into the sport at a grassroots level:
Provide examples of how you are using your club and the game of rugby to build greater engagement, community interaction and confidence in your local town or village. Eg. Do you bring local community groups, businesses and organisations together through your club? Do you host community group coffee mornings / work with charities / work with the council / support local businesses with events etc.? What plans are in place to develop this further?
Provide examples of how your club is/or has plans to be inclusive to all — providing opportunities across age, gender, ethnicity and mixed ability, and also to those who perhaps aren’t able to play, but still wish to be part of the club.
Tell us about any new or original methods you feel your club is using that makes it special. These can be relevant to any part of the club but focus on fresh ideas and new ways of improving the club, the pride and confidence of its members and the way it interacts with its community.
