Ellis, Mercer and Rokoduguni shortlisted for awards

15 May 2017

Bath Rugby’s Tom Ellis and Zach Mercer have been shortlisted for this season’s Land Rover Discovery of the Season award, whilst Semesa Rokoduguni has been nominated for the Aviva Premiership Rugby Community Player of the Season.

Ellis and Mercer have enjoyed a breakthrough season for the Club, with the duo establishing themselves as first team regulars. Ellis has made a seamless transition from second row to flanker and his form in the Blue, Black and White has seen him recently called up to the England training camp.

His back row colleague, Mercer has also shown his star potential for Club and country, in a season which saw the 19-year-old captain England U20 to the Grand Slam in the Six Nations.

Rokoduguni, who has had a prolific season on the field, with 10 tries in the Aviva Premiership has also been recognised off the field for going the extra mile to make a difference through his charity work. The England international has played an integral role in raising money for Help for Heroes and the Bath Rugby Foundation. A serving soldier in the British Army, Rokoduguni has also become an ambassador for the Foundation’s Tackling Transitions programme, which aims to help ex-servicemen and women pursue a career in sport.
