The partnership between Dyson and Bath Rugby, two of the most high-profile names in the West Country, continues to flourish as it reaches its third year.
Bath’s strong start to the season – beating Northampton Saints at Franklin’s Gardens for the first time in 16 years, not to mention winning all three of their pre-season matches – has been complemented by the good news that the Club’s partnership with Dyson, their title partner since July 2014, has been extended for a further two years.
The new 2016/17 Dyson branded match kit and training wear was launched to much fanfare over the summer. A hugely popular video has been released online to mark the occasion, involving members of the team holding an impromptu game of touch rugby with the public in Bath’s iconic city centre. Adding to the excitement at the Recreation Ground, Bath Rugby has acquired some world-class additions this season, with new talent in both the coaching set-up (New Zealanders Todd Blackadder and Tabai Matson) and the playing squad (Wales internationals Luke Charteris and Taulupe Faletau). This coupled with the development of the new temporary West Stand, upping the Rec’s capacity by approximately 1,000 seats, sets the stage for the opening of the home season when they host Newcastle Falcons at the Rec this Saturday at 15:00.
To add to what will be the biggest year yet for the partnership, Bath will be hosting a sports and entertainment spectacular at Twickenham on Saturday 8th April 2017, when they face old rivals Leicester Tigers in an event billed as ‘The Clash’. To celebrate the meeting of these historic foes, the Club has planned a festival of entertainment for all the family before and after the whistle is blown.
Tarquin McDonald, Managing Director of Bath Rugby, commented: “Bath Rugby and Dyson have enjoyed a very strong relationship these past two seasons, one which we’re delighted to be continuing with over the coming two seasons. Dyson have been a joy to work with, and this partnership extension serves to emphasise the value of our work together at an especially exciting time for Bath Rugby.”
