Bath Rugby's summer signing, fly-half Stephen Donald has been called up to the All Blacks World Cup squad for the remainder of the tournament.
Hosea Gear has also been called up, and the two replace Colin Slade and Mils Muliaina respectively. Donald has played 22 tests, and Gear has played eight tests - both should link up with the team in the next day or two.
"We're lucky the guys coming in have played test match football in recent times," Henry said.
"...They have been here, they know the players, know the environment we live in and know the rugby we're trying to play."
Slade has torn his adductor, while Muliaina has fractured his shoulder. It is still to be confirmed whether the two will undergo surgery.
Coach Graham Henry said that both players were immensely disappointed that their tournament had come to an end.
Muliaina, who departs New Zealand after the World Cup, has probably played his last test.
"They're very disappointed," he said. "They've got tournament-ending injuries, so how they feel is very natural. They're very disappointed to be leaving the group at this stage of the tournament."
