Discovering the next 'Prop Idol'

5 April 2016

Could you be the next Nathan Catt or Henry Thomas?

‘Prop Idol’ is a talent identification exercise run by the Bath Rugby Academy which seeks to encourage 13- to 16-year-olds to explore the possibility of playing in the front row.

The aim of the workshop is to identify potential front row stars of the future, providing them with an idea of what is required to play in the scrum, and to test both their technical ability and physical attributes.

So, have you got the appropriate physical attributes to play in the front row?

It should be emphasised that players do not need any prior experience of playing in the front row, just an enthusiasm to have a go. You never know: although you may currently be playing at centre, you could in fact be the next big thing at tighthead. Perhaps you haven’t even played rugby union before, and just want to try out a new sport.

The 'Prop idol' events will be taking place on the following dates at these clubs:

WED 6TH APR - WOOTTON BASSETT RFC

WED 20TH APRIL - TAUNTON RFC

WED 4TH MAY - WALCOT RFC

WED 11TH MAY - WIMBORNE RFC

(Meet at 6pm for a 6.40pm start. Sessions end approx. 9pm)
