Bath Rugby Foundation was delighted to receive a cheque for £10,802.78 from Coventry Building Society on Friday night.
This sum was raised by supporters investing in the building society's Bath Rugby Club affinity accounts, with the charity benefiting from a donation equal to 1% of the average balance in the accounts.
Emma Nye, Manager of the Bath branch of Coventry Building Society said: "We are delighted to have exceeded last year's donation of £4,329, which shows how much support the community has for their local Premiership club. The account has been very popular over the years and we look forward to continuing this success and making another impressive donation next year."
Phil Sawyer, Member Communications Manager at Coventry Building Society, explained: "We're committed to making a difference to the communities in which our members live. Our community programme supports hundreds of good causes, from local initiatives, to national charities, across the UK.
The range of programmes covered by Bath Rugby Foundation is hugely impressive, from basic literacy skills and vocational training, all the way through to mentoring, healthy lifestyle guidance and, of course, targeted physical activity. There really is something for everyone and we're delighted to see the Foundation going from strength to strength.
We're proud to support the valuable work of Bath Rugby Foundation through our affinity accounts. Coventry savers choose to invest and share their interest with the Foundation and this year we're delighted to have raised a record amount to help this invaluable work continue."
Bath Rugby Foundation General Manager Mandy Gardner added: "We are really grateful for the continued support from savers for yet another tremendous donation of £10,802.78 - even higher than last year. We would like to thank everyone who has chosen to invest their savings in this account and support Bath Rugby Foundation. This amazing donation will help to support the continuation of our award winning education, inclusion and healthy lifestyles programmes."
