Chris Cook: My Top Five Tracks

14 October 2015

To celebrate Bath Rugby’s new partnership with OPPO Digital – exclusive supplier of headphones to the Club – scrum-half Chris Cook lists his top five songs.

"I prefer calm but upbeat songs," says Cook, "so I play all of these before games."

1) 'Stay Alive' by José González

I first heard this song on the soundtrack to 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty', which is a film I love. It's a very chilled song but it's got a positive vibe to it.

2) 'Facing the Sun' by Fritz Kalkbrenner

My brother found this while we were on holiday this summer in Italy, and it was perfect for chilling round the pool. I've loved and listened to it since then.

3) 'Hey Mama' by Kanye West

Like Marmite, you either love him or hate him - and I love him. I think this is one of his better songs since it's not as aggressive as his new stuff. This particular track isn't on this album, but 'Graduation' is definitely my favourite album of his.

4) 'Nitrous' by Nick Mulvey

This is from his album 'First Mind', which is awesome. It's just a good, fun song to listen to. It has his own little take of 'You're Not Alone' by Olive in it as well, which I like.

5) 'Dancin (KRONO Remix)' by Aaron Smith.

This is and old-school song but I have just started listening to it again. It's the sort of thing I listen to before games as I don't like the whole head-banging thing.
