Cameron Redpath in line for Scotland Return

10 February 2022

Cameron Redpath has been named on the bench for Scotland’s Six Nations Round 2 clash with Wales in Cardiff this weekend.

The young centre has not been involved with Scotland since his first cap last year when he helped his side to a first win at Twickenham since 1983. Redpath has recently put in a run of form together for the Blue, Black and White after a prolonged period off due to injury.

He made his long-awaited return against La Rochelle at fly-half in mid-January and has now played in a further two games back in the centre.

The Scottish International is one of a handful of changes to the side that beat England in last weekend’s opening round, where this weekend Scotland will be on the hunt for their first win in Cardiff since 2002.

Bath Rugby’s Director of Rugby Stuart Hooper said, “It’s amazing to see Cam back in the mix for Scotland after a long injury.”

“He was brilliant throughout his rehab process. He has come back stronger and has been able to get some valuable game time under his belt for us over the last few weeks to push his Scotland chances.”

“I’m sure he has been training at his best for Scotland and it will be great to see him come off the bench this weekend”.

One of the other changes is Pierre Schoeman, brother of Bath Rugby’s Juan Schoeman, who comes into the starting XV after previously featuring of the bench.
