Bath Rugby is hugely proud six of its players have been named in England’s final squad for the upcoming Test matches against USA and Canada.
Club captain Charlie Ewels, Beno Obano, Sam Underhill and Joe Cokanasiga are the Blue, Black and White’s capped contingent while Josh McNally and homegrown Senior Academy centre Max Ojomoh could earn their international debuts.
Flanker Miles Reid has been ruled out of the summer series after fracturing a facial bone in training.
England will take on USA on Sunday 4 July (14:00 kick-off) and Canada on Saturday 10 July (15:00 kick-off), with both games at Twickenham Stadium.
Head Coach Eddie Jones said: “This is the third and final phase of our selection. We have a squad here full of talent and potential, with 23 uncapped players who have the chance to make their England debut.
“We’ve had two good weeks working and training hard and now we look forward to seeing how far we can go.”
Of their initial call-ups, Bath Director of Rugby Stuart Hooper said: “For Charlie and Sam, it is another earned opportunity to wear the rose and represent the club on the international stage as they have done so well over the past couple of years.
“We are really pleased for Joe and Beno. Since returning from his injury, Joe has worked incredibly to bring his game back to and beyond the level we have come to know of him while Beno deservedly has the chance to add to his first taste of international rugby experienced back in the 2021 Six Nations.
“Max Ojomoh’s inclusion is a true demonstration of the Bath Rugby pathway. He, and the other Academy players who have recently received international call-ups, continue to give their absolute everything to the club and their teammates and we are incredibly proud of their latest achievements.
“Josh’s selection is testament to his consistent performances and brilliant leadership since joining Bath Rugby. He has earned the right to have the opportunity to play international rugby.”
Both of England’s matches are live on Channel 4.
