Bath Rugby Women’s Sevens have formed an exciting partnership with the Southern Academy of Sport.
The Chippenham-based company are specialists in athlete performance and their mission is to help athletes of all levels fulfil their potential by optimising physical performance and rehabilitating injury.
As well as supporting players in the Bath Rugby Academy pathway, the Academy have supported high performance athletes at events including the Olympics, Commonwealth Games and UFC.
The Southern Academy of Sport recognises preparation for sports performance goes beyond gym training, and aspires to make positive changes in the health, lifestyle and preparation of players through the four foundations of performance: Movement, Mindset, Recovery and Nutrition.
Their support will be key for the Bath Rugby Women’s Sevens side ahead of a number of top-flight Sevens tournaments.
Joe Alford, Southern Academy of Sport Performance Director, said: “We are proud to be supporting the first Bath Rugby Women's Sevens team and are looking forward to helping lay foundations for the future success of the squad.
“Our aim is to provide the players and coaches with world-class Sports Science, Strength and Conditioning and Medical support, that allows them to optimise their performance on the pitch."

“They are providing us with high-quality 360 support for our squad members, which includes strength and conditioning, sports science and medical.
