The Bath Rugby U18s continued their progress in the Premiership Rugby U18 Academy League with an impressive 21-29 victory against Saracens at Allianz Park on Saturday.
14 points from Orlando Bailey and second-half tries from Gabriel Hamer-Webb and Max Ojomoh moved the Blue, Black and White to the top of the Southern Conference level with Gloucester. However, it’s Bath at the summit of the table with a superior points difference of +132 compared to Gloucester’s +49.
The pool stages come to a close this Saturday (February 9th), as Bath Rugby host London Irish at Trowbridge RFC (kick-off 13:00). London Irish will travel to the South West in buoyant mood after beating Gloucester 27-22 last weekend taking the Exiles up to fourth in the table.
A five-point win against London Irish should ensure that Bath progress onto the finals day of the Academy competition as the first place team from the Southern Conference. This would see them take on their counterparts from the Northern Conference with Leicester Tigers, Wasps and Newcastle Falcons currently occupying the top three positions.
The Academy Finals day will take place on Sunday February 17th at Allianz Park. The finals day will also include a third place play-off game between the second placed teams from both the Southern and Northern conferences.
