Bath Rugby U18 run in eight tries to beat London Irish U18

15 January 2018

Tom de Glanville scored 20 points, as Bath Rugby U18 secured a 41-50 victory over London Irish U18 at Hazelwood.

Irish were quick out of the blocks scoring two tries in the opening 11 minutes through Ben Harris and Will Sinfield. Bath winger Ethan Hutt hit back with a try of his own four minutes later, but another flurry of scores quickly followed from the Exiles. 10-5

Captain Ben Donnell and Reuben Knight gave their side a commanding 22-5 lead with just over 20 minutes on the clock. However, that didn’t deter the visitors, as they finished the first half with three tries in quick succession. 22-5

Miles Gilbert crossed the whitewash for Bath’s second try of the afternoon, to put the Blue, Black and White within 12 points of their counterparts. After slotting the resulting conversion, de Glanville quickly took centre stage with a try of his own, before Gilbert added another try to his tally. 22-24
