Bath Rugby Under-18s earned an impressive 57-36 victory over Northampton Saints in a friendly on Saturday.
Taking a break from the U18 Academy League season, the two teams went head-to-head in three 30-minute periods to aid game time for their squads.
Billy Reid crossed early for Saints, but Callum Kingsbury and Luke Graham tries turned the match on its head for Bath.
Northampton’s forwards were rewarded for their efforts with a penalty try, however the junior Blue, Black and White ended the first 30 on top with Henry Bonetti dotting down and James Linegar’s conversion making the score 17-14.
Although Rory Cameron extended Bath’s advantage, Saints hit back through Oliver Scola and Yujian Zou to take the lead going into the final 30 minutes.
From then, Bath added five tries to their tally to see out the win. Jack Bennett and Connor Treacey turned the match back in the West Country outfit’s favour and Kacey Pike continued his fine scoring form, finishing after Saints’ Logan McCabe touched down.
George Timmins and Treacey scores sandwiched Jacob Willmott’s consolation for a comprehensive Bath win over the Northern Conference leaders.
