Number one seeds Bath Rugby will face Brive at home in the Quarter-Finals of the Amlin Challenge Cup in early April, it has been confirmed.
It will be a rematch of the famous 1998 Heineken Cup final encounter, in which Bath prevailed 19-18. In the event of a victory against 1997 Heineken Cup winners Brive, Bath would then face either Gloucester Rugby or London Wasps away.
Bath earned the home fixture after picking up the most points in the pool stage – the final match of which was their heavy 54-13 defeat of Bordeaux Begles at the Rec last Thursday.
Brive emerged from Amlin Challenge Cup Pool 3 with five wins from six matches. Their pool included Newcastle Falcons, Bucharest Wolves and Cammi Rugby Calvisano. Bath's six from six record in Pool 2 came against Newport Gwent Dragons, Bordeaux Begles and Rugby Mogliano.
The other Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-finals taking place on the first weekend of April will feature two all-English affairs as Wasps take on Gloucester, Sale Sharks face Northampton Saints, while Stade Francais and Harlequins feature in a repeat of the 2011 final.
Ticket information will be released shortly, once we have had a confirmed date and kick-off time. Please note, this game is not included in Season Ticket Packages.
