Following the recent decision of the Charity First-Tier Tribunal Bath Rugby is pleased to announce the commencement of the process to bring forward new development proposals for world-class facilities at the Rec.
This fresh start provides an exciting opportunity to explore the potential for new development proposals which could deliver wider benefits to the City including riverside regeneration, enhanced sporting participation and community use. It also provides a pathway for developing a design solution which befits the Club’s iconic location and complements the unique architecture of the City.
The Club’s previous design proposals, which date back three years to early 2014, are now outdated due to the above ruling.
As part of the new consultation process, the Club is holding a number of ‘pre-design’ workshops to explore the above considerations which will be publicised in May and then used to inform the appointment of the lead architect, and the subsequent design process.
Invitations are being issued this week to a representative group of City and planning stakeholders, supporters, neighbours and wider residents and workshops are taking place throughout the Spring.
A dedicated website and feedback channels will be launched over the coming weeks to provide all the latest news and information on the consultation process as we work together to bring forward development proposals which complement, enhance and work for our City.
We look forward to providing more updates in the near future.
