Bath Rugby ramp up for new season in Limerick and Cardiff

28 July 2021

Bath Rugby will prepare for the 2021/22 Gallagher Premiership season with exciting back-to-back friendly matches against two United Rugby Championship sides.

Stuart Hooper’s men will travel to Ireland to take on two-time European Cup winners Munster at Thomond Park on Saturday 4th September (15:00 kick-off) before heading to Wales to play Cardiff Blues at Cardiff Arms Park on Friday 10th September (19:15 kick-off).

The games will be covered extensively across Bath Rugby social media channels and match centre.

On the friendlies, Director of Rugby Stuart Hooper said: “Facing quality opposition from a different league ahead of the 2021/22 Gallagher Premiership season will provide a brilliant test for us.

“The Munster trip will help us to prepare for European travel in the Heineken Champions Cup while the locality of the Cardiff match will aid our on-the-day travel preparations going into the new campaign.

“The group are relishing the opportunity to put on the Blue, Black and White as soon as possible and we are confident the matches will be a really beneficial conclusion to our pre-season.”

A decision on whether supporters will be able to attend these matches will depend on governmental restrictions in Ireland and Wales at kick-off. Our hosts will provide further information closer to the time.
