On the 21st April 2012, 92 members of the Bath Rugby Past Players Association attended their annual reunion which was held at Farleigh House, the headquarters of Bath Rugby.
Many of the past players travelled vast distances to attend, the longest journey having been undertaken by John Hawgood, a first XV player and former captain in the early 60's, who travelled all the way from the Orkney Isles off Scotland to enjoy the weekends' camaraderie.
After a welcome and briefing from Bath Rugby Chief Executive, Nick Blofeld, the past players were given a guided tour of the facilities which were regarded by all as being quite superb and were then treated to lunch, washed down with a pint or two of Wadworth's finest ale. The "icing on the cake" followed the return coach trip to the Recreation Ground and watching the current crop of Bath Rugby players beat London wasps 17 v 12 in the penultimate round of the 2011/12 Aviva Premiership season.
If you have ever played for any of the Bath rugby sides and wish to join the Past Players Association, please telephone Hon. Secretary Roger Elliott on 01666 500 468 or email email@example.com
A very warm welcome awaits you.
