Bath Rugby will kick-off the 2018/19 Gallagher Premiership season with two West Country derbies with Bristol Bears and Gloucester Rugby in waiting in Rounds 1 and 2 of the new campaign.
First up for the Blue, Black and White will be a trip to face the recently promoted Bears at Ashton Gate, before welcoming Gloucester Rugby for the first home game of the season at the Rec, which will be televised live on BT Sport.
Bath Rugby can also confirm that The Clash will take place on Saturday 6th April, with the Blue, Black and White hosting Bristol Bears at Twickenham Stadium.
Director of Rugby, Todd Blackadder, said: “I don’t think you could have asked for a more exciting start to the Gallagher Premiership season.
“The derbies against Bristol and Gloucester are always the ones that players and supporters look out for when the fixtures are released, so there’s going to be a lot riding on the first few games.
“To also play a local derby at Twickenham is a really exciting opportunity for everyone associated with the two clubs and I’m looking forward to seeing the stadium awash with Blue, Black and White once again.”
The fixtures have been confirmed up until Round 9, with all subsequent fixtures subject to change, with confirmation for date and time expected approximately 12 weeks before the fixture takes place. You can download the full Bath Rugby fixture list here
We have negotiated one Friday and one Sunday fixture for the fixture moves imposed by broadcast requirements in the first nine rounds of the Premiership. Whilst not directly in our control, we will continue to do our utmost to manage this through the season and we will also do our utmost to ensure that there is fair balance with the other clubs in the Gallagher Premiership.
